The Community of the Resurrection consists of men who, freely accepting the call of God, have committed themselves to follow the gospel life.
We aim to renew this place of hospitality, welcome and learning as a resource for Church and society in a turbulent and changing world. Our aim is to ensure that all who come can share in our life and leave refreshed and renewed through their experience.
People who stay at the Mirfield Monastery, home of the Community of the Resurrection, come for a variety of different reasons. These can be individually arranged retreats, guided retreats led by a member of the Community or the College, week long special courses, or clergy retreats.
The Community of the Resurrection, with its Mother House at Mirfield, has been perhaps the ost influential and best-known of the Anglican religious communities. This is not only the centenary history, but the first history of the Community. Over the century CR has developed a distinctive type of spirituality and commitment withi the Catholic Anglican tradition which has interacred with church and society. For all those who have been trained of influenced by CR or who have any association with it, this book will be essential reading. For others it will provide a fascinating picture of developments and changes within an important part of Anglicanism and a thought-provoking account of God’s remarkable ways with men.
